Cabaiguan - Tatuaje Cigars

Hang out with me for very long and you’ll find out I’m a big fan of Tatuaje cigars. They are a high quality, premium cigar and they just stand out to me. Maybe it has to do with Pete Johnson and his entry into the cigar scene. Maybe it’s some of the branding and the names of various Tatuaje cigars. All I know is, every Tatuaje I’ve smoked is a fantastic cigar. I recently wrote about my experience with another Tatuaje cigar, the 10 Year Miami Tuxtla! Great stick!

The Cabaiguan cigar is named after a municipality in Cuba. This city in the northern province called Sancti Spírites is home to some of the world’s most knowledgeable men when it comes to cigars. This cigar is designed and curated to be an old world, medium-bodied, Cuban style cigar. And it lives up to those efforts receiving a 92 rating from Cigar Aficionado.

This cigar is rolled and blended in Nicaragua using classic Cuban blending. Not only that but it features that Cuban-esque triple cap. This cigar might be one of the closest you can get to a true Cuban in the states. This cigar is perfect for you if you prefer them on the more mellow to medium side of things. Nicaragua long-fillers wrapped in an Ecuadorian Shade Connecticut wrapper gives this a mellow body, yet full of flavor.

You’ll get notes of everything from leather to cocoa, cedar, earth, light pepper and even some roasted nuts. For me it’s the roasted nuts that really come out. And every now and then I get a bit of sweetness in the cocoa. All within a mellow, smooth smoke. This is a fantastic cigar for any cigar aficionado to keep on hand in their humidor.
